Over 10,000 attendees are expected to pack the aisles to discover what’s new and next at Natural & Organic Products Europe 2018, which returns to ExCeL London this Sunday.  We asked a few of our regular visitors how they get the most out of their time at the show.

Danielle Kyriakides, Panacea Health & Beauty, London

I always look forward to attending Natural & Organic Products Europe.  It’s an all-in-one space for finding new ideas, products and suppliers.  Exhibitors often have so much to offer independent retailers and this is the place to build relationships with them. Also, seeing and trying out products before we get them in store is exciting.

Top tips
Before going I map out the stands and talks I can’t go without seeing. Once I’m there, I head for the New Products Showcase before taking on the stands.  It’s also one of the best places for keeping up with and discovering new trends that our customers are so influenced by.

What key trends are you looking out for this year?
CBD is definitely on the up in our stores so we will be looking for supplements and skincare containing this, but also fermented and plant-based foods and drinks are also certainly on the list.

Describe the show in 3 words
Innovative, diverse and inspiring.

Rebecca Hughes, True Food Community Co-operative, Reading

As well as being a fun day out away from work, the show is a great opportunity to meet current suppliers and potential new ones.  This show is very much on the pulse, so we enjoy catching up on all the new products coming out onto the market.

Top tips?
I firstly suggest getting to know the floor plan very well.  No matter what capacity you’re in, make a list of what sections you want to visit and who you want to visit in those sections.  It’s nice saying hello face to face to suppliers and you can usually pick up further/good discounts this way.

What key trends are you looking out for this year?
We don’t follow trends, we set them. Joking aside, we are looking for more organic vegan food and sustainable products.

Describe the show in 3 words
Fun, exhausting, worthwhile.

Lizzie Adams, bodykind, Greater Manchester

Natural & Organic Products Europe is a key part of my year. The show is an unmissable event for any health food, or natural beauty/supplement retailer.  The show is the biggest in Europe and houses all of my current suppliers.  It also has some fantastic and innovative new brands and products. This is what makes the show so exciting!

Top tips
Before I attend, I make an itinerary for myself and the team with the names of the brand/supplier I want to see and the stand numbers in numerical order.  I also plan in any specific meetings needed too, I will cross check against the map provided so I can plan a ‘route’ around the show. My other key tips would be to take a bottle of water – there’s a lot of walking and talking, and it’s easy to forget to eat and drink.

What key trends are you looking out for this year?
Key trends for me are the developments in natural beauty ‘do-it-yourself’ cosmetics, and natural spa products, such as peels and masks etc. Veganism and Curcumin is huge this year, so seeing all the new innovative products in both categories is also what I’m looking forward to finding.

Describe the show in 3 words
Exciting, innovative, buzzing.

Samy Sala, Healthfoods Unlimited, Exeter

I love visiting the show to get the opportunity to meet up with a new supplier and follow up on what is new in the market. It’s a beautiful environment to communicate with loads of different people across the whole world of natural and organic. I plan for the show by firstly preparing my orders to be placed, and then arrange to see what great offers suppliers have on their stands.

Top tips
I would advise everyone working in the industry to visit the show.  Arrive early so you don’t miss anything and make sure to collect all the catalogues, brochures and promotional products whilst you’re there. Finally, don’t forget to smile and enjoy your time!

What key trends are you looking out for this year?
Something unique, lots of new products, and good deals

Describe the show in 3 words
Beneficial, astonishing, entertaining.
