New innovations by Viridian Nutrition, BetterYou, The Cheeky Panda, Apiagro, Ombar Chocolate, Remedy Drinks UK, Nush Foods, Healthy Food Brands, Green People, Inika Organic, Alteya Organics, The Konjac Sponge Company, and The YES YES Company, scored top marks with visitors and judges at Natural & Organic Products Europe this week.
They were among the winners of this year’s Natural & Organic Awards Europe, which were announced at the London ExCeL show over 22-23 April.
The awards, which celebrate the standout brands, products and retailers of the year, were hosted by Natural Products News (in association with the Soil Association).
Rosie Greenaway, editor of Natural Products News, says: “With the Natural & Organic Awards now in their 23rd year, it’s an impressive feat that entrants are still managing to surprise the judges with such exceptional products across the categories.
Established brands as well as newcomers are innovating at such a remarkable pace that our industry can only blossom from this point forwards. The calibre of entries to this year’s New Products Showcase prove that we’re truly in the best position yet to challenge the mainstream in a robust and impactful way.
“On a personal note, I’d like to thank everyone who came along to cheer on the finalists, celebrate with the winners and give the room a wonderful uplifting energy. Congratulations to all our brilliant winners – we can’t wait to see what you do next.”
As in previous years, the Award’s best new product categories were voted for by visiting buyers and retailers on the show’s opening day (Sunday 22 April). Their top product picks – selected from a record 330 New Product Showcase entries – were then judged by a panel of leading industry experts.
This year’s judges included: Julian Wright, buying director at The Health Store; Finn Cottle, trade consultant at Soil Association Certification; Alison Thomas, grocery buyer at Planet Organic; Alan Martin, owner of Food For Thought; technical and corporate nutritionist Shona Wilkinson; Holly Shackleton, editor of Speciality Food magazine; Aurelia Ziomek, health and body care buyer at Planet Organic; Janey Lee Grace; Joanne Hill, owner of Amaranth; and Sonia White, MD of LoveLula.
