Natural Beauty & Spa Exhibitor Show Highlights

Featuring hundreds of natural beauty and personal care exhibitors from all around the world, the Natural Beauty & Spa show at Natural & Organic Products Europe is the UK’s biggest trade event for natural, organic, Fairtrade, free-from, sustainable, and eco-friendly products. The following is just a taste of some of the latest new natural beauty and personal care products being introduced at this year’s event.

New for 2012 – Pukka Ayurveda Organic Skincare.  Pukka launched their collection of organic Ayurvedic skincare in September 2011 and are the sponsor of the show’s new Beauty Lounge.  Pukka Ayurveda has been created by Sebastian Pole, ayurvedic practitioner and herbalist, and contains highly concentrated herb extracts.  The collection balances the three Ayurvedic doshas (body/mind types) and includes the Natural Health Awards 2012 winner – Firming Face Oil.  Visit the Pukka Beauty Lounge on stand 3090 to explore this wonderful collection.

Austria’s Pure Green Brands GmbH (stand 3121) will be exhibiting its brand new range of hotel amenity cosmetic products for the first time in the UK.  The products are certified Natrue Natural Cosmetics Standard yet are competitive in terms of price with conventional cosmetics.  They offer the ideal way for hotels to differentiate themselves and provide guests with a natural option.  Following its successful launch at the BioFach show in Germany, Pure Green Brands will be introducing its 100% plant based shampoo – independent organics quillaja saponaria super-conditioning shampoo – to the UK, which is ideal for those with scalp and skin problems.

Pai Skincare (stand 3076) provides organic solutions for sensitive skin.  Made from only the purest plant extracts with proven skin benefits, Pai’s premium products restore skin to its natural radiance.  As well as the innovative Kukui & Jojoba Bead Skin Brightening Exfoliator, Pai will also be showcasing their new organic range of products and treatments for spas and salons.  Pai Professional’s clean, gentle and effective approach means that for the first time sensitive skin sufferers can reap the benefits of a high performance facial, without the risk of irritation.  The UK’s Sunday Mirror says: “My skin was glowing and fresh, with no hint of redness, which makes a nice change.”

Shangri La Organics (stand 4095D) is a new British skincare company, which is launching five new products from its Heaven Li Bodies Range at this year’s show.  All products are certified 100% Organic and are highly concentrated blends – therefore a little goes a long way!  Chic, vintage-inspired packaging adds a touch of old time glamour to this brand and heavenly product names, such as Angels Kiss Lip Salve, Heaven Li Heels Foot Balm, Healing Hands Hand Salve and Guardian Angel Rescue Balm, make the Shangri La brand memorable.  Soil Association certified and BUAV approved product range, all handmade in the UK.

For the second year running, nine Latvian companies will exhibit alongside The Investment & Development Agency of Latvia at the show (stand 5090, Latvia Pavilion).   Among these nine, four will be showcasing natural cosmetics.  They include KIWI Cosmetics, with its Soil Association certified natural skincare products; Attirance, with its 300 unique cosmetics products, which are exported to more than 40 countries; newly established face and body care brand Anna Liepa, which sources its raw materials from local organically-certified farmers societies; and Ambersense, who’ll be introducing its professional and retail lines of facial and body care products.

Dr Bronner’s Magic Soaps (stand 4008) is the No 1 selling soap in the natural marketplace.  More than 60 years ago, Dr Bronner launched his famous super-concentrated, biodegradable Castile soaps, which are made with certified organic vegetable oil and essential oils, contain no synthetic ingredients and are packaged in 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles.  All soaps are now certified Fair Trade.  Dr Bronner will also showcase the complete newly Bronnerized range of organic lotions, lip and body balms certified to the USDA food standards.  Meet vice president Michael Bronner in the Natural Beauty & Spa Theatre at 3pm on Monday 2 April, where he’ll be hosting a seminar on ‘Behind the Label: A Critical Look at Common Cosmetic Chemicals’ used in body care products.

Exclusive UK distributors Pravera Ltd will debut the award-winning French natural beauty brand terre d’Oc at this year’s show (stand 1041).  Unveiling the world’s best-kept beauty rituals, traditions and secrets, terre d’Oc harnesses nature’s finest active and unique ingredients in a complete collection of over 50 organic make-up products and five skincare collections, designed to suit every skin care need.  Certified organic, fair trade and dermatologically tested, terre d’Oc offers high efficacy and beautiful, professional results.

Green People (stand 3080) has been pioneering organic personal care products since 1997.  To mark the occasion and celebrate its 15 year anniversary, Green People introduce new additions, new and improved formulations, handy travel sizes and stylish new packaging to offer higher performing products with even better results.  Containing the purest, most natural and organic ingredients, Green People’s multi award winning products are 70% to 99.9% certified organic to deliver multiple benefits to the skin – without the use of any chemical ‘nasties’.  100% vegetarian and 100% cruelty-free, Green People is dedicated to buying fair trade ingredients wherever possible.  New additions include: Self Tan with SPF 15; Cooling Hydrating Facial Mist; Sun & Sport Shampoo and Conditioner; Limited Edition’ Gold Shimmer Bronzer and Eco Eye Trio; and Hydrating Firming Serum.

Jack N’ Jill Natural Toothpaste (stand 4126) is the brainchild of a pharmacist husband and genius wife who share a paranoia about harmful children’s products.  Dissatisfied with the available options, they set out to formulate the safest, most effective and yummiest toothpaste for kids.  Jack N’ Jill Natural Toothpaste is Aussie made, completely safe to swallow and comes in five varieties of certified Organic flavours – Raspberry, Banana, Strawberry, Blueberry and Blackcurrant.  It also has certified Organic Calendula and Xylitol (a natural cavity fighter).  Jack N’ Jill also make earth friendly toothbrushes – the handle is made from 100% non GMO corn starch – biodegradable!  Completely adorable.  Even if they say so themselves…

Multi-award winning NATorigin (stand 2121) is showcasing its new lipsticks and face powders this year.  The lipsticks have already been creating a stir in the natural beauty world, winning the Janey Lee Grace Platinum Award for Best Organic Lipstick.  100% natural and certified organic, these hypoallergenic lipsticks are formulated with orchid extract to give an extremely soft and smooth texture.  They are very rich in organic waxes, shea butter and oils to moisturise and protect lips, keeping them soft and supple.  Formulated for sensitive lips or allergies, the natural scent is fresh, subtle and chemical-free.  The only lipsticks to be approved by Allergy UK.

Pomegranate’s new natural and organic skincare range is – like the fruit – full of good things,” says the company’s founder, Chris Sams Rafferty.  The newly launched range comprises skincare and accessories plus four key supplements to support skin from within.  With organic content in the skincare range of 80%-97%, quality of ingredients is very much part of the Pomegranate ‘Hand on Heart Promise’.  The range has an extensive free-from list but focuses on what is in the products, and why, rather than what is not.  It is packaged in Pomegranate’s distinctive colours to give strong shelf appeal.

Elizabeth Barbalich, founder of organic skincare brand Antipodes® (Kinetic Natural Products Distributor, stand 5008) will be coming over from New Zealand especially for the Natural & Organic Products Europe show.  The main focus of her trip is to premiere two new additions to the award-winning Antipodes range – Apostle Skin-Brightening and Tone Correcting Serum and Juliet Skin-Brightening Cleanser.  Apostle is a water-based serum, dermatologically approved for sensitive skin, which may reduce pigmentation and age spots, even out skin tone, and dramatically brightens the complexion for true fresh-faced beauty.  Juliet reveals clean, clear skin thanks to the exfoliating extracts from New Zealand’s Kiwi and vibrant Hibiscus flower, whilst Manuka Honey and Vinanza Grape balance oil production.

Eterno Naturals (stand 4071) will be introducing several new products that have just gone on sale in the UK.  Hairwonder Anti-Hairloss treatments is a natural hair loss range that can increase hair growth by 25% in just 4 days (in vitro biological tests in France) and reduce hair loss.  It’s the first and only hair care brand to be enriched with at least eight certified organic ingredients.  Whilst the new Hairwonder Colour & Care permanent hair colours are the first ammonia free hair colourants to be enriched with nine certified organic ingredients, including Argan Oil and anti-ageing Green Tea.  These new colourants will colour, protect, nourish and strengthen the hair in one treatment!

Until recently, finding a natural, toxin-free way to remove nail polish was almost impossible.  Now there’s new Eden Natural Nail Polish Remover from Fresh Therapies Ltd (stand 2096),which works quickly and safely on all types of nail polish without the over-powering chemical smell of regular removers and actually leaves nails and cuticles nourished rather than weak, brittle and dehydrated.  Presented in a sophisticated, recyclable glass bottle, the lime-scented, clear formula is made using biodegradable food-grade and plant-based ingredients that are non-toxic and non-carcinogenic, making it safe for children, pregnant women and those undergoing treatment for illness.  It is also suitable for vegans and has not been tested on animals.

One of South Africa’s most trusted organic personal care brands, Pure Beginnings (Pty) Ltd comes to Natural & Organic Products Europe this year, with its multi-award winning range for babies and children (stand 1074).  The eco and vegan friendly skincare range comprises five pH-balanced products – Baby Bum Cream with Baobab, Baby Wash & Shampoo with Baobab, Baby Body Lotion with Baobab, Bubble Bath and Berry Toothpaste – that are manufactured to organic standards, without the use of petrochemicals, parabens, synthetic fragrances, colourants and sulphated surfactants.  Pure Beginnings’ products are endorsed by Beauty Without Cruelty South Africa, and accredited by Phytotrade Africa.  They combine certified organic and native fair trade African ingredients that have been ethically sourced, with traditional herb botanicals.

The new Nordic Birch range by Urtekram (stand 1094) is inspired by the Nordic birch forests and the delicate scent of cornflowers.  The range is filled with the strength of organic birch leaves, gathered from Urtekram’s own organic Herbary in Mariager, Denmark, which have been used as a beauty product for centuries.  The effective extract of birch leaves provides skin and hair with moisture and strength.  Certified organic, vegan and without unnecessary chemicals, such as parabens and other synthetic preservatives.  Nature and its powerful herbs form the basis of Urtekram’s care products – and this has been the case since 1972.

First time exhibitor Manakedi Skincare will be presenting a new range of three non-petrochemical products designed with high concentrations of bio-active components to help very dry, red, irritated and itchy skin – the Active E1 Cream Cleanser, Active E1 Moisturiser and Active E1 Mask.  Manakedi has fully embraced the concept of using environmental friendly packaging and taking a green approach with products.  Manakedi is developing natural sun care, self-tanning and skin brightening products, with appealing scents and effective botanical properties, using the latest cold process product development techniques.  Certified Vegan and registered Natural by BDIH.

UNICA COSMETICS 100% natural and organic skincare range (stand 3112) includes baby to anti-aging products, for very sensitive/problem skin and sun/radiation damage.  Prebiotics and remarkable skincare agents like Tamanu Oil and Kokum Butter combined together using a traditional handmade process.  UNICA NATURISSIMA organic range goes back to basics to take you as near to nature as you can get with 100% natural and 100% active ingredients contained in violet glass.  NATURISSIMA FOR MANKIND Super Rich Regenerating Soothing Cream for anyone anywhere – is a blend of the most pure and gentle organic cold pressed oils and nothing else.

Wild (stand 4113) believe that you can care about natural products, about conservation and about Fair Trade but still be gorgeously glamorous!  Using only the highest quality oils and the purest ingredients from trees and plants from Africa, it has created a unique range of body butters, soaps and hand creams that are as beautiful to look at as they are fabulous for consumer’s skin.  Baobab, Marula, Kalahari Water Melon, Cape Chestnut and Avocado are all combined with Shea and essential oils to bring a truly ground breaking range. Taking inspiration from the amazing fabrics found across the continent, Wild brings an African Style that is very fashion right into the bathroom!

This year, Nature’s Dream Ltd – the exclusive UK and Irish distributors of renowned colorant range NATURTINT® – will be showcasing the recently revamped ‘Patch-It Series’ of reflexology foot patches.  The range includes SLEEP Patch-It with a blend of calming essential oils, CIRCULATION Patch-It with added menthol, and DETOX Patch-It.  All are available in eye-catching, newly designed two pack sizes – for 1 or 10 night’s use.  Generous discounts across all ranges will be offered to visitors to the Nature’s Dream stand 3091 in the Natural Beauty & Spa show.

Bentley Organic, a 5th generation British brand, has launched a Nappy Balm and Vapour Balm within their baby range (stand 1030).  Both products are certified organic by the UK’s Soil Association.  The Nappy Balm contains Chamomile and Olive, making it a gentle but effective part of the nappy changing routine.  The Vapour Rub contains Jojoba, Sunflower and Chamomile to ease breathing and clear congestion.  Bentley Organic have also formulated some new and exciting 10g pots of Organic Lip Balm, using a blend of the finest natural and organic ingredients, which is free from parabens, phenoxyethanol, SLS, SLES, sodium benzoate and benzyl alcohol.

PURE THERAPY by Vital Touch (stand 2095) is a gorgeous new range of organic therapeutic skincare – including body oils, balms, butters and scrubs – harnessing the expertise and ethos of aromatherapy expert Katie Whitehouse.  Originally formulated for professionals, the Soil Association certified range is now rebranded for retail.  This pampering home spa experience follows the philosophy of Katie’s practice.   Each blend (hand made in Devon) smells and feels divine, and goes way beyond that.  PURE EASE releases muscle tension; PURE NURTURE pampers mind and body; PURE INSPIRATION aids mental clarity; PURE TRANQUILITY totally relaxes; PURE DETOX cleanses and refreshes; and PURE ENERGY warms and energises.

Medina Healthcare Products Ltd (stand 4098) is launching new health supplements, hair care and skin care products at this year’s show.  Endorsement from the Vegan Society and the Halal Food Authority of the UK finally got the range together.  All the hair care products are all SLES, paraben and animal product free.  The range consists of a shampoo, conditioner and shower gel (for both men and women); a shampoo for babies/young children; Vegan health supplements; and an out of this world facial cream called ‘Heavenly Moisture’, which is pure heaven.

Severn Delta has chosen Natural & Organic Products Europe 2012 to launch its rebranded range of PitROK Crystal deodorants based on pure natural mineral salts.  The sprays and roll-on are formulated with aloe vera and grapefruit seed extract leaving skin feeling fresh and revitalised.  Deodorants are the most frequent reason for an allergy test and PitROK Crystal is dermatologically tested, not animal tested and does not block pores as well as free of alcohol, aluminium chlorohydrate, aluminium zirconium, parabens, SLS or SLES, propylene glycol or silicone.

Organic beauty brand evolve beauty (stand 2071) are exhibiting at Natural & Organic Products Europe 2012 with its new distributor Ken Lamacraft Marketing (KLM).  Launched in 2009, evolve has grown to be a significant force in the UK natural and organic sector.  The innovative, high performance products for skin, body and hair are certified organic and packaged in 100% recycled bottles.  evolve has recently re-launched both their packaging, with a new premium look, and their product range, which now includes hi performance products such as organic peptide based anti ageing moisturisers and high tech organic body creams with naturally smoothing AHAs.

Heaven Scent Incense Ltd celebrates its 20th year in business (stand 2099).  Being one of the first natural plant wax candle manufacturers in the country means that they have helped raise awareness amongst consumers of the damaging effects of paraffin wax candles.  Creating an alternative healthier wax inspired Heaven Scent to produce candles for massage for the Beauty Industry over 5 years ago; with Eve Taylor being one of the largest distributors of candles to the sector.  The Natural Massage Candle was officially launched at the NEC Spring Fair this year and was short listed for ‘Gift of the Year’.

Leading natural baby skincare brand, Organic Monkey will be showcasing their award-winning collection of skin nourishing oils and balms at this year’s Natural & Organic Products Europe (stand 1076).   The UK’s first Fairtrade certified range of baby products, Organic Monkey is made with the finest blend of food-grade oils, organic butters and essential oils that are rich in omega fatty acids and vitamins to deliver an active powerhouse of nutrients to protect, nourish, and soothe baby’s delicate skin.  Launched to great acclaim at last year’s show, Organic Monkey returns with an array of industry awards under their belt, including the extremely coveted, TIPS© awards, where they won ‘Best Newcomer’ and ‘Must-Have’ awards for its Bumfluff nappy balm and Hello Mellow massage oil.

The leading brand for hair loss, Nourkrin® is exhibiting at Natural & Organic Products Europe with Ken Lamacraft Marketing Ltd (KLM).  The UK and Ireland’s number one brand for hair loss and thinning hair, Nourkrin® will be offering special ‘show only’ offers at the event (stand 2071).  Nourkrin® is drug free, it combines the unique Marilex® marine extract with ingredients such as Vitamin C and Silica, to enhance its uptake and effectiveness.
